Having a commitment to safe motorcycle riding, the sharing of Buffalo Soldiers history, and an undying need to serve the chapter members and the community.  These are the heartfelt characteristics that I have attempted to demonstrate over the years. As a charter member of the Sacramento Chapter of the BSMC in 2002, I began my journey into the world of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club.

Over the following 7 years, I traveled across country on my iron horse, meeting people from various parts of the U.S., attending NABSTMC annual meetings, National Bikers Roundups, and sharing our knowledge of Buffalo Soldier history with all that showed an interest.

In 2006, I had the opportunity to step into the role of President of the Sacramento Chapter. From that point until I stepped down, the chapter continued to evolve into the largest chapter in California. Along with our growth, the chapter became consistently involved in community-based events. This not only helped support those charitable organization, but also placed a brighter focus on who the Buffalo Soldier motorcycle was in Northern California.

We took the opportunity to ride to locations like The Presidio in San Francisco, and Yosemite National Park, near Mariposa, California, to listen to the park rangers enhance our knowledge of Buffalo Soldier history.  With this additional information the members became better prepared to inform the community about our rich history.

Through “servant leadership” I was able to change the face of the Sacramento chapter. We became more than a riding club. We became an organization that encouraged family support.

In the summer of 2009, I retired from Pacific Gas & Electric Company, and accepted a job in the Seattle, Washington area.  I recently transferred my membership to the East Bay Chapter.
